Maria Kemp is Patrick Kemp's wife in 1972. She plays hide-and-seek with her daughter when vampires enter the house and kill Maria and her little daughter. Kemp is never the same after it. He starts to hunt vampires.
Bad Blood
In the novel Bad Blood it is hinted that one of the vampires that killed Maria and her daughter might be Christopher since he killed a lot of children during that time. One of the children was Jenny McGough. Her father Dr Declan McGough get in contact with a religious organisation soon afterwards, which might have been the CenSSA. The organisation that was founded by Kemp.
