Ben was a soldier and one of Aidan's best friends during war. Aidan promised to get him home safe. However then Aidan was turned into a vampire. Aidan still wanted to help his soldiers and came back to them. Ben was hurt during the war and was bleeding. So Aidan couldn't resist his blood lust and killed his best mate. Ben was Aidan's first victim as a vampire.
